Special Seasonal Offerings |
|
|
From time to time, clergy and lay leaders will offer a seasonal program for different ages. These usually have a theme related to the liturgical season and are often several weeks in length. Sometimes these programs are one time only intergenerational events that help children and families understand the traditions and practices of the church that change with the seasons.
Some special seasonal offerings in christian formation have included:
- Exploration of Spiritual Gifts, Spirtual Practices and the Lives of Saints/Holy People (Advent)
- Quiet Days for Advent and Lent
- Intergenerational Advent Wreath making and learning about Advent prayers and hymns.
- Advent Quiet Hour (meditations and Compline service)
- Fat Tuesday Pancake Supper and burying the "Alleluia" acclamation for Lent.
- Holy Week and Maundy Thursday events about the Last Supper and our Eucharistic traditions.
