I don’t know about you, but I’m not very good at recognizing those seemingly mundane things that happen during the typical day that, upon reflection, were truly gifts. Even more, seeing those “gifts” as God’s grace – the Holy Spirit at work – is even more of a challenge for me.
But God’s grace is present in our lives each and every day. And as your mother taught you, when you get a gift, it’s only right to say “thanks”.
Now there’s a new way to “seize the moment” and do just that. Or maybe you want to do something nice in honor of someone – a tribute or a small memorial. That’s why we’re launching The Generosity Board.
The ministry leaders and clergy have articulated “wish list” items that were beyond the means of the general budget. In addition, community needs that come along will be posted outside the parish office all year ‘round and eventually will be available on the parish website as well.
Here’s how it works.
1. Take a look at the items on the board. Specific information on the item (size, color, cost, e.g.) will be on individual cards.
2. If you see something you’d like to act on ( “I can do that!”) in thanksgiving or for any other reason, take the card and fulfill the purchase or donation.
3. Contact Ken Horseman for assistance and to report the donation. GIFTS MAY REMAIN ANONYMOUS if you choose, but from time to time we plan to publish the most recent wish list items that have been fulfilled.
This Generosity Board is an extension of our “Generations of Generosity” canvass theme this year. It will evolve over time, and if you’d like to assist in any way we’d love your help! Give me a call and let’s chat. ALL IDEAS ARE WELCOME!
