Jesus' baptism

Baptism is the primary sacrament of the Christian church. By it, we become part of the family of God and we are empowered to be Christ’s ministers in the world. The Baptismal Covenant is made by parents for children who are too young to do so for themselves. For older children and adults, the covenant is made directly by them.

Confirmation is the sacrament of affirmation of the Baptismal Covenant and mature dedication to God’s work in the church. The Bishop confirms those who have matured in their faith enough to be ready to make a commitment for themselves to Christian life and ministry.

There is a period of preparation before one is able to participate in each of these sacraments. For more information on how to prepare your child or yourself for Baptism or Confirmation, please contact the church office.
